Permanent Exhibition

The new Permanent Exhibition presents items from the Museum’s collection, loans and also other digital documents, in order to promote the life and career of Ioannis Capodistrias in the most complete and thorough way possible.

The exhibition is chronologically organized and follows the life and career of Ioannis Capodistrias in Corfu and the Septinsular Republic in general, in Russia and other western European countries, and finally in the new State of Greece, through items that belonged to himself and his family, his personal letters, as well as through various government documents.
The exhibition offers visitors the opportunity to form a more complete mental picture regarding the life and legacy of a man who played a major role in the shaping of European balances at the beginning of the 19th century, and also in the organization of the Septinsular Republic, the latter United States of the Ionian Islands, and of course the newly-formed State of Greece.

The experience of the visit is enhanced by digital media, demonstrating the life, legacy and the multifaceted work of this great politician.

How to get there

With your own vehicle:

Driving on the national road to Paleokastritsa (Ethniki Paleokastritsas), turn into the back road at the Hospital or in Potamos (depending on which direction you are coming from) and then follow the signs for Evropouloi. At Evropouloi junction you will see signs for Capodistrias Museum.
The Museum’s entrance is found on the road.
